North Dakota State Personal Tax Credit
The following types of applicants are eligible to apply for the Personal Tax Credit program:
  • Residential
  • Estates
  • Trusts

The following table shows the requirements in order to be eligible for the tax credit:
Requirements for Eligibility
The tax credit will apply to the purchase of a geothermal energy system in a building either owned or leased by the taxpayer of North Dakota.
Maximum Incentive: 15% tax credit (3% over 5 years)
* Excess credit may be carried over to the next 10 tax years.

Otter Tail Power Company
Energy Efficiency Rebate Program
Commercial and residential applicants may be eligible to receive a rebate on the purchase of qualifying energy efficiency technologies, shown below:
  • Water Heaters
  • Furnaces
  • Boilers
  • Energy Management Systems
  • Thermal Storage Technology

The rebate amounts are listed below:
Residential Demand Control: $300/unit
Water Heaters: $200/unit
Commercial Water Heaters: $20/kW (kilowatt)
Thermal Storage Units: $20/kW (kilowatt)
Commercial Water Heaters have a maximum rebate amount of $5,000.00
