Solar Energy Nebraska State Incentives

Nebraska Sales and Use Tax Exemption for Community Wind Projects

The following types of applicants are eligible to apply for the sales and use tax exemption program:
  • Commercial
  • Non-profit
  • Utility
  • Tribal Government
  • Agricultural
  • Residential

The following table shows the requirements in order to be eligible for the tax exemption:

The tax exemption will apply to the purchase of any of the following systems:

Nebraska Public Power District
Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program
Builders/Developers and Residential applicants may be eligible to receive a rebate on the purchase of qualifying energy efficiency technologies, shown below:
  • Refrigerators/Freezer Recycling
  • Heat Pumps
  • Air Conditioners

The rebate amounts are listed below:

Refrigerator/Freezer Recycling: $35/unit
Air Conditioners (window): $30
Cooling System Tune Up: $30
Air Source Heat Pumps: $200-$300, depending on efficiency
Ground Source Heat Pumps: $400
Attic Insulation: $0.15/ft2 up to $300
All equipment that is the subject of a rebate request will be inspected to ensure the requirements on this page are met.
