Missouri Tax Deduction for Home Energy Efficiency Improvements

The Tax Deduction for Home Energy Efficiency Improvements offers a tax deductions to the following types of applicants:
  • Residential

The following table shows the requirements in order to be eligible for the tax deduction:

Requirements for Eligibility
The tax deduction requires an energy use audit from DNR certified home energy auditor. Only the cost of the audit, and home improvements, are eligible.

The incentive levels are mapped out below:

Incentive: 100% Cost of Improvements
Maximum Incentive is $1,000 per return and $2,000 total per taxpayer.

Intercounty Electric Cooperative
Energy Efficiency Rebate Program
The Energy Efficiency Rebate Program offers rebates to the following types of applicants:
  • Residential
  • Commercial
  • Industrial

The following table shows the requirements in order to be eligible for the rebates:

Water Heater: Efficiency of .92 or higher

Incentives:
First Time Install: Geothermal Heat Pump $400-$600/ton (commercial or res)
First Time Install: Air to Air Duel Fuel Unit $150/ton
Upgrade Attic Insulation to R-36 or more 20% of ticket materials only
Replace Windows with Energy Star Low-e Windows, Double Pane 20% of ticket materials only
Water Heater $50
Washing Machine $100/unit
Dishwasher $50/unit
Room AC Units $50/unit
