Solar Energy Kentucky State Incentives

Kentucky State Personal Tax Credits
Energy Efficiency Tax Credits

The following types of applicants are eligible to apply for the tax credits:
  • Residential
  • Installer
  • Contractor
  • Multi-Family Residential

The following table shows the requirements in order to be eligible for the credits:

Requirements for Eligibility
The credit will apply to the purchase of any of the following systems:
  • Water Heaters
  • Doors
  • Lighting
  • Windows
  • Furnaces
  • Building Insulation
  • Boilers
  • Heat Pumps
  • Air Conditioners

Incentive level is 30% of cost.

The maximum credit levels are mapped out below:

Storm Doors
Water Heater
Heat Pump
Air Conditioner
Advanced Main Air Circulating Fan
$250 each.
Equipment and Installation Requirements
Attic Insulation: R38 or higher
Exterior Wall, Crawl Space, Basement Exterior Wall Insulation: R13 or higher.
Floor Insulation: R19 or higher.
Electric Heat Pump Water Heater: Energy Factor of 2.0 or higher.
Split Central Air: SEER 15, EER 12.5
Packaged Central Air: SEER 14, EER 12
Nat. Gas, Propane, or Oil Water Heater: Energy Factor of 0.8 or higher.
Nat. Gas, Propane, or Oil Furnace or Hot Water Boiler: Fuel Efficiency > 95
