Kansas Renewable Energy Property Tax Exemption

The following types of applicants are eligible to apply for the tax exemption program:
  • Commercial
  • Industrial
  • Residential

Requirements for Eligibility
The tax exemption will apply to the purchase of any of the following systems:
  • Solar Thermal Electric
  • Photovoltaics (PV)
  • Landfill Gas
  • Wind
  • Biomass
  • Hydroelectric
  • Geothermal Electric

Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program
Residential applicants may be eligible to receive a rebate on the purchase of qualifying energy efficiency technologies, shown below:
  • Water Heaters
  • Furnace
  • Heat Pumps
  • Air Conditioners
  • Geothermal Heat Pumps

The rebate amounts are listed below:

Electric Water Heaters: $100-$225, depending on size, efficiency
Central Air Conditioner Replacement $25/ton
Electric Heat Pumps: varies widely on many factors
Ground Source Heat Pumps: $150/ton heating capacity
Remove and Replace Gas Furnace: $150
Maximum Incentives for Central Air Conditioners is $125, and Ground Source Heat Pumps is $2,000.00
